Can I combine my YouTube Shorts into a longer video?

I've been clipping streamers and creating shorts from their content, and I'm wondering if it's allowed to take several of these shorts, edit them together, and post a 4-5 minute video on regular YouTube. Is this permissible, especially if I heavily edit them to enhance humor? I haven't faced any copyright claims, and my analytics are looking good.

I agree with the notion that this is like reversing the process of turning a long video into shorts. If you've been successful with your shorts and haven't received any claims, it indicates that your approach is working. Just keep the content fresh and engaging.

Absolutely! I've had success doing something similar. While it falls into a bit of a gray area, the key is to ensure that your edits are transformative enough to qualify for fair use. The more you edit and add your own flair, the more likely you are to stay on the safe side.

Engaging with your audience can also make a big difference. If you build a community around your content, they might provide you with feedback that can help you improve your editing style and content creation process, making your longer videos even more enjoyable.

I think it's essential to consider the creators you're featuring. Many streamers appreciate the exposure and actually encourage clipping, as long as you credit them properly. It could be beneficial to send a quick message to the streamers you want to include, especially if you're planning to monetize your video. They might give you the green light!

From my experience, as long as you're not just slapping clips together without adding your personality or humor, you're probably fine. Just be mindful of how you present it; if you’re making it a cohesive narrative or theme, that enhances the value of your content.
