I've been creating Dutch content for some time but I'm looking to switch to English videos permanently because I have new ideas that fit better in that language. I’m also wondering about what to do with my old Dutch videos given that they're quite different from my new educational content. How will this language change impact my channel’s performance in terms of YouTube's algorithm?

One option I considered for my old videos was to keep them up but change their visibility settings. If you think your past content could confuse new viewers, it might be wise to set them to private or unlisted. This way, they won't be tied to your new direction but can still be accessed by those who are interested in them.

From my experience, switching to English can significantly broaden your audience reach, as English content tends to have a larger global viewer base. However, you should be mindful that the algorithm will take some time to adjust to your new content. Initially, you might experience fluctuations in views as the algorithm recalibrates to your new language and subject matter.
