Should I Focus on Creating Shorts or Long-Form Content?

I've been experimenting with posting stories as long-form videos, but I recently started making memes and noticed a significant increase in watch hours and subscribers. Given that my channel is still new and most of my growth is from memes, should I continue focusing on shorts, or should I also incorporate long-form stories despite them not performing well?

Mixing content can be a great approach. You can create a blend of memes and stories to see what resonates with your audience. However, it's essential to ensure that the content you deliver aligns with what you enjoy creating. If you love making memes, keep doing that while gradually introducing stories. You could also consider starting a separate channel for stories if you think they cater to a different audience.

I've found that shorts can be incredibly effective for growth, especially when you're starting out. In just a few weeks, I gained 391 subscribers and over 80k views solely from shorts. The key is to keep experimenting with your content. Even if you're not seeing immediate results with long-form videos, don't be afraid to mix it up. You might attract different audiences with each type of content.

When you're starting a new channel, flexibility is crucial. Post a variety of content—memes, stories, or anything else that sparks your interest. Track how each video performs over time. This way, you can identify which content type engages your viewers the most. Just remember, whatever you choose to focus on, it should be something you love to create, or you risk burning out quickly.
