Why is my YouTube video getting high impressions but low CTR?

I recently uploaded a video that received 2.5k impressions, but my click-through rate (CTR) is only 0.5%. Is this a common issue for new uploads? What can I do to improve it?

One thing I've noticed is that as YouTube increases the number of impressions, the CTR tends to decrease slightly. This is because the algorithm learns what kind of viewers respond to your content. If your video is shown to a broader audience that isn't as interested, the CTR can drop even lower.

It's actually quite common to see a high number of impressions with a low CTR when you first upload a video. YouTube's algorithm is still trying to figure out who your target audience is, and during this phase, you might get a lot of impressions but not many clicks. This can result in a CTR below 2% initially, and even as low as 0.5% isn't unheard of.
